Well, it’s Tuesday so you know what that means—time for another Toast Tuesday creation! On this particularly chilly morning, I decided to make a breakfast that would have me feeling all warm and TOAST-y (get it?!). I simply toasted a slice of GF Canyon Bakehouse Cinnamon Raisin Bread, spread it with SunButter Sunflower Butter, and topped it with a few Granny Smith apple slices, drizzle of honey, and sprinkle of ground cinnamon.
This toast was especially delicious since I made it using some of my favorite gluten-free products. Canyon Bakehouse Cinnamon Raisin Bread is certified GF and free from dairy, nuts, casein, and soy. I enjoy this product so much because it actually looks and tastes like real bread with the perfect bread-like texture. Not to mention, it contains hearty ingredients like whole grain sorghum flour, brown rice flour, raisins, and sunflower seeds. The Canyon Bakehouse motto is “Love Bread Again” and this product definitely has me loving GF bread!
SunButter Sunflower Butter is a unique find that I’ve repeatedly stumbled across at various GF expos and events. In fact, I actually had one single-serve sample cup left from one of the expos that I attended last month and used it as a spread for my toast today. Sunflower butter, made from sunflower seeds (obviously), is naturally gluten free and a great alternative to nut butter for anyone with a nut allergy (it’s actually free of all of the top 8 allergens!) It’s a good source of protein and rich in vitamin E, magnesium, copper, iron, and B vitamins. It’s also perfect for snacking—dip GF pretzel sticks, baby carrots, or apple slices into this creamy sunflower butter for a great mid-day energy boost!
